AT Precision Marks Four Years of Growth, Innovation, and Sustainability
AT Precision is celebrating its fourth anniversary in 2024. Since opening in 2020, the Durham-based company has supplied fabricators across the UK with high-quality products and reliable service.
The company opened its doors during one of the toughest trading periods in recent memory. Covid-19 lockdowns and market disruptions created uncertainty across the industry. Despite this, AT Precision pushed forward. Strategic investments and product innovations drove early success.
In February 2020, the company began as a small operation. It manufactured the Everglide range of bi-fold hardware — including rollers, guides, hinges, and cleats. At the time, AT Precision supplied around 100 aluminium bi-fold fabricators nationwide.
Continuous investment in advanced machinery helped the company grow quickly. Over the years, AT Precision introduced the Everseal range of gaskets, as well as security hardware, window handles, friction stays, and PVC infill extrusions. All products are compatible with major systems, helping customers save time and money.
The last 12 months have been particularly significant. AT Precision launched its own Everglide aluminium profile for bi-folds. When combined with the rest of the range, this gives fabricators almost everything they need to manufacture a complete aluminium bi-fold door — everything except the glass.
In the same year, the company relocated to a 60,000-square-foot factory. The move allowed for higher production capacity and larger storage areas for finished products. With more space and better workflow, AT Precision has kept lead times to a minimum while meeting growing demand.
Sustainability became a major focus in 2023. AT Precision invested heavily in an in-house recycling scheme. A new £370,000 extrusion machine now processes unused uPVC materials collected from customers.
These recycled materials are used to manufacture thermal reinforcement bars and, more recently, a new range of uPVC roof laths and joists. To date, the company has recycled over 100 tonnes of uPVC — a clear sign of commitment from both AT Precision and its customers to reduce waste and support a circular economy.
“As we celebrate our fourth anniversary, AT Precision reflects on a journey marked by resilience, growth, and unwavering commitment,” says Sales Director Michael Hewitt. “In the face of unprecedented challenges, we’ve not only weathered the storm, but emerged stronger.
“We’ve come extremely far since the dark days of early 2020. Our success is a testament to strategic investments, innovative products, and most importantly, the trust of our customers.
“As we look ahead, sustainability will remain central to our plans. With our recycling scheme and cutting-edge technology, we’re not just manufacturing quality products — we’re shaping a sustainable legacy.
“Here’s to four years of excellence, and to a future built on innovation, quality, and environmental responsibility.”
