AT Precision Opens Advanced Extrusion Plant at Durham Headquarters

AT Precision has officially opened a brand-new extrusion plant at its Durham headquarters. This marks one of the company’s most significant investments to date and signals a bold step forward in both innovation and sustainability.

A Major Leap in Sustainable Manufacturing

The new facility features an advanced in-house recycling plant. This system takes post-consumer and industrial uPVC waste and transforms it into high-quality recycled thermal reinforcement (RTR) bars. By reusing materials that would otherwise go to landfill, AT Precision reduces its reliance on virgin resources and cuts its environmental impact.

RTR bars produced here are made from 100% recycled uPVC. They give windows added strength and enhanced thermal performance. Installers can fit them quickly and easily, saving time on site. Once in place, they deliver a minimum lifespan of 35 years, offering both durability and value.

Expansion into the Roofing Market

The extrusion plant has also opened the door to new product opportunities. AT Precision has entered the roofing market with the launch of its EcoLath range of roof laths and joists.

Like the RTR bars, EcoLath products are made entirely from recycled uPVC through the company’s new in-house recycling process. They bring clear advantages over traditional timber alternatives. EcoLath products are more affordable, completely knot-free, and resistant to rotting, warping, or bending. These qualities make them ideal for any roofing project, from new builds to renovations.
